Justin Rayome
Justin is a tax lawyer whose practice focuses on project finance, partnership and corporate tax structuring, domestic and international joint ventures and contracts related to the oil and gas industry and oilfield services. Prior to joining Looper Goodwine P.C., Justin was a tax attorney with FORVIS, LLP, a public accounting and consulting firm, working in the areas of business transactions and international taxation.
In his former role, Justin advised clients on issues that arise in corporate mergers or acquisitions and on organizational structuring for tax efficiency. Justin assisted these clients with ensuring that any contemplated transaction would be afforded tax-free treatment and prepared associated tax returns and statements.
Further, Justin has substantial experience handling issues concerning international taxation, specifically as applied to multinational enterprises and intercompany payments. Justin has provided opinions to large and small foreign entities as to their qualification for exemptions, pursuant to tax-treaty, from U.S. withholding tax on investment income derived from domestic sources. Utilizing the vast network of bilateral tax-treaties passed by the U.S., Justin was able to help clients across the globe avail themselves of treaty benefits.
While obtaining his Tax LL.M. at Georgetown Law, Justin was selected as one of four finalists in the 2019-2020 ABA Law Student Tax Challenge, a national tax law writing competition hosted annually by the ABA Tax Section.
